Inspiring Inner Strength & Character Poem

"People of character do the right thing, not because they think it will change the world but because they refuse to be changed by the world."

~Michael Josephson

So character refuses to be changed by the world? Now that’s interesting - a tad. We often think of character as synonymous with good, not even a little bit bad. What does good character actually mean? Wouldn’t the answer depend on what’s ‘good’? And what’s ‘bad’? And what lies in-between?

Do all good people have strong character to match; or do the words ‘good’ and ‘character’ somewhere detach? Are all bad people corrupt and weak; or is strong character simply a matter of making it through the week?

Eeek!

Character is forged on battlegrounds adverse. It’s tested, shaped and honed by things otherwise a curse. If the warrior within had a vehicle to drive; character would be it - its way to arrive.

Adversity isn’t a ‘one-size-fits-all’; where the going gets tough - for you - is where you don’t want to stall. Character is a prize - contended for and won - on the battlefields within, when all is said and done.

A refusal to be changed by the world shows fibre strong and true. To want to improve the world just might not be you.

The world would have you ask, what are its needs? It would have you think hard and do as it pleads. The warrior within would have you consider priorly: ‘What do you want?’ ‘What do you love?’ ‘What can you do entirely?

What would you continue doing, even as the world fell apart? The warrior within would ask you to search for your heart. The path isn’t followed because you’ve been told; it’s followed wholeheartedly in search of your gold.

Attitude and Character Poem

"Weakness of attitude becomes weakness of character."

~Albert Einstein

Attitude brings body and mind together - in a bond impossible to sever. Try to generate a negative state of mind, without bringing the body down too. The body will have to follow if you want to stay blue. Try to inspire the body without elevating your state of mind first; you might as well eat salt to try to stave off your thirst.

Harbouring a negative attitude that has been allowed to grow strong; we inevitably let ourselves down before long. Instilling a positive attitude instead; we elevate our stature and lift up our head. What may have been out of reach - is now possible that’s true. And what may have been possible is now probable too.

Attitude is among the powerful things of this world; if only we could get our wild thoughts unfurled. Succumbing to negativity is fairly common - it’s easy to do. It takes initiative, ingenuity and courage to build an attitude - positive and true.

Poem of Character, Inner Strength and Adversity

"When the world says, 'give up!' The warrior within whispers, 'Try it one more time.'"

~Evolutionary Pathways

Adversity is inevitable sometimes in life; it’s a builder of character - a sharpening stone to the knife. Sometimes it’s the world outside putting our mettle to the test; as if to say, 'give up!’ trying to give us a rest. Sometimes it’s the world within that shouts loudest; 'give up!', as if wanting to see who’s the proudest!

Adversity can come from without or within. When it comes as both, it can really dig in. So why don't we just give-up? What keeps us going - what keeps filling our cup?

There’s another voice inside; it’s a quiet one indeed. It carries to us a message of an entirely different breed. It says, ‘live!’ nothing complicated - just clear, straightforward and true. It tells us to ‘live!’ despite it all - to simply push through.

This is the calling of the warrior within. Answer it we must or our soul withers thin.

It’s almost as if adversity itself beckons the call. It stimulates, inspires and awakens us all. Adversity calls on the warrior within. We have something to live for - something to win!

Adversity isn’t meant to destroy. It’s meant to bring the warrior within to deploy. By giving adversity everything we’ve got; our core becomes strong like a tight steel knot. How truly incredible is that? When adversity comes knocking, we now know where we’re at!
